FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS CONCIERGE PHYSICAL THERAPY?
Concierge physical therapy offers patients mobile services at a convenient location instead of having to travel to a traditional brick-and-mortar clinic. Typically, services are offered at the patient's home. You may also ask about services offered on-site through local business partnerships!
DO I NEED A PHYSICIAN'S REFERRAL?
California is a direct access state, which means that you can access physical therapy services for up to 45 days without a physician's referral. If your treatment plan is expected to exceed 45 days, I can help coordinate the necessary steps to obtain a referral from your physician.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FOR MY FIRST PHYSICAL THERAPY SESSION?
During your first session, we will spend a fair amount of time discussing the nature of your pain, the activities you are having difficulty participating in and what your goals are for treatment. I will guide you through a series of functional tests and measurements to determine the source of your pain. Based on specific exam findings and your personal goals and preferences, we will start treatment with the interventions that are best-supported by existing evidence to improve your pain and function.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST PHYSICAL THERAPY SESSION?
It is recommended that patients wear athletic-style apparel to all appointments. You should wear a loose fitting top and pants or shorts with an elastic waist band. Your clothing should allow examination of the affected body region, and you should be comfortable moving around and exercising in whatever you wear.
DO YOU OFFER VIRTUAL SERVICES?
Yes! If you are feeling under-the-weather or unable to participate in traditional in-person services, for whatever reason, we are happy to provide you with telehealth services as an alternative to in-person care. You can also ask us about virtual options for our Strong Runner Program!
